As I shared in Ode to My Bicycle and Bicycle Fitting, I am getting a shiny road bicycle for racing from Vermont Bicycle Shop in Barre, VT. I’ve been visiting them since I got into mountain biking in 2021, and they’re a welcoming, supportive team.
When it comes to buying a road bicycle, I am out of my depth. The team has been teaching me during my foray into all things biking, including gravel biking and road cycling. I wasn’t convinced I should get a new road bicycle, but they listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and helped me get set up in budget. I appreciate that the team at Vermont Bicycle Shop prioritizes creating a safe space for me as a human before any sale. They want me to have the knowledge and support I need at all steps.
